The name Sweet Thorn derives its name from the large, populous Acacia Karoo that lines the Seeis River, which in turn cuts through the property providing our water source and plentiful shade to our campsites.

The name Sweet Thorn derives its name from the large, populous Acacia Karoo that lines the Seeis River, which in turn cuts through the property providing our water source and plentiful shade to our campsites.
Easily accessible - Our proximity to both Windhoek and Hosea Kutako International Airport coupled with the 'relaxed country feeling' makes Sweet Thorn Retreat an ideal gateway entering into and departing from Namibia.
The main lodge is situated further away from the river, its elevation offers a greater view of the Seeis Valley and surrounding Finkenstein Mountains.
This facility has ten en-suite bedrooms with cooling and television. Seven rooms are outside the main building. Three rooms are inside the lodge building. One room has 2 double beds, One room has two 3/4 size beds and one has twin beds. All have en-suite shower facilities.
The dining area has a fully stocked bar and overlooks the pool area. Above this is an open viewing deck for guests to enjoy sundowners and stargazing. Quite often some of the antelope (waterbuck, blesbuck and springbuck) can be seen down at the floodlit waterhole.
